Take Action Now to Keep Your Body Healthy

Now is the time to take action to keep your body healthy, don’t wait until you get older, as then it may be too late.

Of course, this concept spans many ideas from eating correctly, to exercising on a regular basis, to getting enough sleep, eliminating stress and so much more.

As time passes it seems like more ailments are showing up earlier in life. For instance my mother has arthritis in her joints, mainly her knees and hips. I began to have symptoms in my knees and ankles when I was in my forties, and my daughter who is going to be twenty-four soon began to have even worse problems with her knees when she was much younger yet.

This may be related to the times we live in, the foods we eat or even more so our sedentary lifestyles; even when many of us work our down time is often spent sitting at the computer, scrap-booking or similar endeavors.

When I was in my forties, my knees didn’t really hurt they were just noisy. Whenever I walked they would make clicking noises especially first thing in the morning. For my daughter whenever we went on long trips she would need to get out and stretch to relieve the pain in her knees.

Currently she is working on losing weight and hopefully when she gets to her recommended weight level all problems with her knees will be gone. She is not only watching what she eats, but exercising faithfully also.

As you may have heard me mention before, I work as a cashier at a large grocery store similar to Wal mart, but much better. The majority of customers load their groceries (after the bags have been filled) from the section of the cart nearest the child’s seat.

Most people will never have a health issue with doing it that way, but what if you are the smaller percent that will have a problem? Wouldn’t it be better to do it right now rather than wait until later and wish you did?

I’ve even made suggestions to people that they load their cart from the opposite end and they’ve said, “Good idea, I just had back surgery, but never thought about doing this different before”.

Two people in my family hurt their bodies beyond repair from doing movements they’ve probably done a million times and finally their bodies gave out without warning. We all find out the hard way as our bodies can’t talk.

My mother was bending forward from the waist, looking into the garage and barely twisted sideways and got sciatica from that movement, which she was afflicted with on a regular basis for over five years. Since then it’s healed fairly well, but she still gets flair-ups.

My sister was reaching into the back seat of her car and tore her rotator-cuff. The way hers was torn, there would be no relief from surgery, although over time it has healed for that is something the body will do, but she had to manage with it the way it was for quite some time.

It’s better to pay attention now to the way you are working, playing and doing the things you’ve always done, like shopping to make sure you are not hurting your body in any way, than to wait until you are older when a movement has become ingrained and then have a hard time switching back to the right way later when you are older.

It is available to be healed from any ailment you may have or get at a later time, but sometimes we stymie that healing by our perceptions about it, or when we berate ourselves for doing something we knew not to do, it’s hard to expect that miracle in our lives. It’s not that the miracle isn’t for us, for God is not a respecter of persons; what he has made available to one person, he has for anyone else also.

If you check out a post I found this morning, which is also on my biblical truths blog, http://cindylivingstoneministries.wordpress.com/2012/10/12/jehova-rapha-the-lord-is-my-healer/, you will see some of the heart about Jehovah God as our healer.

God’s heart has always been to heal his people. When he sent manna from heaven, it was to feed the people, but it was also to provide the strength and stamina and healing to continue toward the promised land.

Jesus Christ always did the Father’s will, as his parents taught him. He was obedient to his Father, therefore when those that were ailing came to him of their own accord or were brought by others, what did he do? He healed them all. He never sent any away telling them their time was not yet, or that they were being tried or tested for their faith. No! He healed them all.

In the book of Acts when people got born again, they were made whole throughout their whole being, this is the meaning of sozo a Greek word used for saved, wholeness plus others.

In Acts chapter 3 there was a man that was lame from his mother’s womb, and he was carried daily to the gate of the temple. In verse 6 Peter told him.

Acts 3:6-8:

Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give  I thee: In the name of Jesuse Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping and praising God.
